Hello
I have inherited a Fox 12 Ga. shot gun. I know little or nothing about this make of gun. Gun is missing original butt stock, has replacement that needs work to make it fit. Looks like all the other part are there.
From what I can tell gun was made by Philadelphia Arms Company with serial number 1732. Not sure of the grade, I think C.
What I'm looking for is some help with ballpark of gun value and what it may cost to get it fixed.
Thanks
TopDogDoug

Re: Looking for Info on Fox Shot Gun
Posting some pictures of the gun would really help.
To properly and correctly restock a C-Grade Philadelphia Arms Co. gun, by one of the craftsmen really capable of doing it justice, would be a minimum of $3500 plus the blank.
If #1732 is a C-Grade, it would be the fifth one to suface so far.

A very similar A H Fox "C" Grade was sold at auction in Pennsylvania in November of 2013 for about $1850.00 plus the fees and plus the taxes. The serial number of this "C" grade A H Fox was 19595. This C grade Fox 12 gauge SXS that was sold at auction in Pennsylvania had a broken butt stock that had been poorly repaired. This "C" grade from Pennsylvania had been a two barrel set once upon a time but was missing one of the barrels and missing one of the fore ends when it was sold at auction in Pennsylvania last November. I guess this fellow got all the information he needed. What he may have been looking for is "Your gun is worth thousands of dollars.". Well, maybe not, but it is worth a bunch to one of our members. Maybe he would check back with us.
