Have a Fox Sterlingworth Pin gun 1912, When I put pressure on the stock where the right hand grips and push to the left a space appears next to the receiver. I know there is a crack, but I can"t see it. i would think I should fix it before I shoot it because it wtll just get worse. Give me some advice.

Re: Stock repair, what's my problem!!
Pull the stock off of the gun. Your crack is in the web of the stick head. Simple to repair by inletting a staple on either side of the crack and then epoxying the crack followed by glass bedding the whole thing. If the stock head is oil soaked you will need to draw the oil with a soak in acetone followed by a soak in denatured alcohol which will dissolve and draw out the oil but also will ruin the finish.
If this is too much for your skills I recommend that you send the gun to Clint Meier in Lee's Summit, MO. He rebuilt the head of the stock of my A grade and did an excellent job at a very fair price

Re: Stock repair, what's my problem!!
Clint may have a better solution than that. Unless there is missing wood, it's probably only about a $100 repair regardless. Given the way you posed the question, the best bet is to send it to Clint.
Re: Stock repair, what's my problem!!
Give me more info on Clint. I appreciate the advice, need to know a little more about Clint and his address as where to send the stock. Thanks in advance for your help. Maybe I should know Clint, but sort of new to the Forum.
