I have a 1916 Ithaca Flues...32", about 40 pts, straight grip, mucho colors but a couple dings. A little quick and flat shooting for my trap style, but about perfect for shooting sporting type singles from a low gun.

Rumor has it that both events were won by Mike Campbell.

Re: Bo-Whoop and Letterman Cup events at Hausmann's
[ Plenty of time to qualify. All day Thursday and Friday, 9:00-1:30 Saturday . If that doesn't fit your schedule, that's not our fault Mr. Campbell. Everybody has a better idea. We are always willing to have guys volunteer their time and effort to help with these events. Thank you, Mr Mountain, for...

Re: Sporting Clays
You're welcome, Jim. A couple more points; There's no doubt there has been a "relaxation" of the rules since we first started. We definitely started SC in this country with a mandatory low gun and transitioned to allowing a pre-mount; though how & why it changed isn't well remembered. ...

Re: Sporting Clays
For a congregation that loves history, here's a little history on the sporting clays gun mount.... Random thoughts on pre-mounting for sporting clays…. Par cours de chasse (governed by FITASC) is played in a multitude of countries on several continents. Everyone knows FITASC mandates a “ready positi...

Re: Cocking slide & light strikes
It may have occurred to you, but the other half of the "light strike" equation is primer seating depth. Federal promo ammo is especially prone to deep primers which may work fine in Bubba's gun but not in mine. I've no experience with Clever ammo. Sometimes, striking the same shell with th...

Yep, I agree. Just an artifact of the earlier pic that I thought the sculpted panels were way more rounded, but they aren't all that atypical. Thanks.

How about a profile pic of just the action? The glimpse I get in one pic suggests it's shaped a bit differently than any I've seen.

Re: RST Shells / Pattern analysis
I can't argue the observation that some guns are difficult to open with Winchester ammo, but I'm skeptical of the assertion it's because Winchester primers are "steel." All 209's have a steel body and can be picked up with a magnet. But the center cup, the portion struck by the firing pin,...

Re: Cracked Stock
It can most likely be repaired. Ultimately, you'll have to decide how much cash it's worth to you to keep shooting it. Seems it's greatest value lies in the fact that it was your grandfather's. You've been happy so far with the way grampa's gun looks, so that needn't change. So the cheapest solution...

Strikes me as purely a cosmetic issue. If JB Weld doesn't satisfy you, what about some cerrosafe?
