Re: Marlin model 90 over under
This thread got me taking a deep dive into things Marlin Model 90/Ranger Over And Under Model 103-?-. Over the years I've seen lots of examples of utility grade American shotguns that GI's got upgraded in occupied Germany or Japan after WW-II. I'm thinking this 1949 Model 90 20-gauge may top the ch...

Re: Husqvarna 22 single shot rifle
Looks like the No. 65. This page from a 1932 Husqvarna catalog -- No. 65 .22 LR Rifle.jpeg There were two cheaper versions of this little bolt action also. The No. 65 remains in a 1949 Husqvarna catalog I have but is gone from a mid 1950s catalog. Thank you researcher you always have a good answer ...

Re: Marlin model 90 over under
The gun referenced, 7710, is a pre-WW-II 16-gauge with an after-market solid rib added. Don't know what that does to value, but it sold cheaper than the asking price for three of the four 12-gauges on Guns International. Thank you sir Where did you find info on the serial number I always have troub...

Re: Grade A fox value
This early A-Grade 12-gauge, original butt plate to muzzle, from the years when the A-Grades were still stocked with European walnut, recently sold at auction for $1150. 9175 01 28-inch.png9175 04.png Shooters and collectors are gah gah over the small bores and prices are out of sight, but lower gr...

Re: Grade A fox value
We would at least need some clear photos of the gun, the repair, the replaced forend, barrel length, gauge, and serial number to start with. What other forum did you post about this gun? just went back and added some and it was on a shotgun world forum the general thoughts over there are to find on...

Grade A fox value
Not sure if this forum is the right one to ask this question but since it is a repair I thought I would ask here. I am looking at a Fox grade A that has a repair to the stock and the forearm wood has been replaced the ad says every else is in good shape I’ve asked on another forum but thought I woul...

Re: AH Fox receiver bluing
A Sterlingworth receiver should be case colored. Can't tell for sure but it appears your gun was hot blued. If so check the barrels thoroughly or better yet have a competent gun smith check them. Hot bluing can cause the solder to come loose on the barrels/ribs and lead to problems down the road if...

AH Fox receiver bluing
Is the receiver on a 1922 fox supposed to be blued or is it supposed to be to be cased hardened? I just bought one that I think has reblued barrels and receivers. The seller thinks it’s original but it looks too good to be original. I have another fox and the receiver looks case hardened on it. ![Image]()

Re: Am I missing something ?
Yes. On Philadelphia guns a wood screw into some very thin fragile wood. On Utica guns a machine screw into a steel yoke inlet into the forearm wood. 31450 08.jpg Okay I'd have to look at the wood closer to see what I'm missing then. I noticed (forgive me for not knowing the right words) the small ...

We took the wood off and...
