Re: MA Pheasant Season
I have read that Ma also stocks Quail. Do your ever get into any of them? They stock Myles Standish WMA in Plymouth and Francis Crane WMA in Falmouth with quail but that’s close to a 3hr drive for me. Also heard it gets quite crowded. The pheasant areas in northwestern MA are actually quite nice.

Only issue is anything one retrieves they both want to be the one to bring it to me. They put up birds. Dont run fields just walk and smel...

MA Pheasant Season
Started today. Although stocked, several really nice places nearby. Went out this AM. Heavy cover, tall corn rows. Moved 4 with 2 flushing. 2 way out in corn rows, shot at 1 (missed), and one connected. Always start the year for the first with a Fox SW (my only Fox). Went to another spot early after...

Re: NE Kingdom Grouse
One little rant if I may. My 2 dogs are very well behaved Pitbull mixes. They actually put up more birds than many pedigree hunting dogs but most of all they listen to me and don’t charge other dogs. I say that because at the lodge there were numerous others with their hunting dogs who they let run ...

Up in the Averill region for the last week. Not overly encouraging. Week started with Monday and Tuesday hitting 70deg by 9am then peaking 88 by mid day. Hunted very little and saw even less. Rained Tuesday night with temps in upper 40s on Wednesday. Encouraging. Started the day putting one up for a...
