Re: A Grade at Cabelas

At my age I'm trying to stay away from projects especially for a 12ga A. It is a very pretty gun with lots of condition. Many of the barrel guys could resolder the rib without the need for a reblue, but I don't want to take the risk. It seems to me Bass Pro/Cabela's is listing more used SxS's lately...

Re: A Grade at Cabelas

The A grade is a nice gun but has a loose top rib so I didn't accept it.

Re: A Grade at Cabelas

Congratulations Craig, 18053 has beautiful wood. Back to 27043, I always find it interesting when the right barrel is choked tighter than the left. Does this mean it was for incoming birds like doves or driven pheasants? That would be my guess. If the A is a keeper it will make the travel team to S...

Serial number. It seems Fox reserved the first 100 serial numbers in a ten thousand range , eg. 27001 to 27099 for special order guns.

Re: A Grade at Cabelas

I took a chance on the Fox, 27043. Bass Pro ships 2nd day FedEx to my local Auburn NY Bass Pro, no charge. Guns with a 0 in the hundredth place are pretty interesting and normally special ordered. Nice wood and good dimensions for me. Nice pheasant gun. Made during what I call the puddy colored CC p...

Re: 2026 new additions

I decided to gift the BE to my son Doug. He owns a nice CE 12/30 and a 16ga Sterlingworth that came from the estate of my long time friend Larry Howk. I'm blessed to have a son that loves to hunt and shoot with the old man.

Re: Looking forward to the Southern, how about u?

Well I've packed up my guns for the Southern. Two Foxes, a XE 16/30 and a Sterlingworth 16/30. Two Parker 8s, a PH 8/36 and a GH 8/36. Traveling with Mark Kircher a good friend. Nothing to sell at the Fox Booth this year. Looking forward to shooting Deep River, Drakes Landing and Kidd's Place this y...
