Thanks for posting the pics. Its possible the gun was restocked. The family I obtained the gun from said it wasn't used for over 20 years by their grandfather or anyone else. As I mentioned before the barrels are just shy of 30". I measured the chokes and they are full and full. Could it be a s...

Is anyone aware of barrels coming from the factory slightly short of 30" by 1/16" or were they shortened by a 1/16"? The barrels measure 29 15/16". I checked the length with two different tape measures thinking the tape might be incorrect. I then measured barrels from my other gu...

The serial numbers match but that would make sense that it was sent back to the now Savage arms company. The gun has the engraving pattern of an early Phila B grade gun. The gun was probably restocked I'm assuming at the same time because the stock is not that of an early Phila gun. The gun is like ...

I recently purchased a Savage Fox 12ga but I do not recognize the engraving pattern. It has a snipe on one side and the other side has a quail on the receiver. the water table is stamped with a "B" so it is a B grade..? The serial number is 17,788. I'd post a pic but can't figure out how. ...
