Or you could sell it to me and I'll be proud to parade the "tart" in full view of the purists!
I'm just warped that way!

Re: Custom 20 Ga SW Project in Future?
Fred, 28" barrels F/M. I'm thinking of changing it to IM/IC - my faves for chasin birds. Also 6 lb 8 oz.

Re: Custom 20 Ga SW Project in Future?
FC16, if my SW was in better condition I'd agree with you about keeping it close to factory. Actually, if I wanted a close to factory gun I'd have paid a little more for one in better condition. But seeing as how it does need restocking and the metal work needs cleaning up I think I'm going for a cu...

Custom 20 Ga SW Project in Future?
I went to a historical arms show this weekend and came away with a 1914 SW. This is my 2nd Fox gun. It had been restocked and badly fitted. But the barrels, receiver and metalwork are all in good shape with minimal pitting on the trigger guard and on the bottom tang over the serial number. It locks ...

Re: How long have you been collecting/shooting Foxes?
Just bought my first. It's an A model from 1910 choked IC/IM. I'm looking forward to next grouse season. I had just sold a Lefever Nitro Special that I had cleaned up to a friend who needed an inexpensive shotgun. I made a modest profit but kind of regretted selling my only SxS. I have several O/U. ...

Re: joining the collectors forum
I also sent in my member application recently and had not heard anything yet. But if the membership guy is on vacation that's OK, I'll wait. My question is I sent in a check for $30 for an annual membership as stated on the form but I've seen several posts saying they sent in $31.50. Do I need to re...

Re: A First
Beauty of a dog & nice bird but the owner looks a little grizzled! Just joking
With my long white beard I get the Santa Claus stare from kids in July! Nice wood on that SW 16 too! I'm jealous!
Keep up the good work.

Just rec'd the UPS notice - my 1910 A grade will be delivered to the local FFL on Monday!
Unfortunately late grouse season ends this Saturday.
Oh well, something to look forward to in the fall.

Re: Ruffed Grouse Hunting
Mike, I use the same stop & go routine. Works great! Dog stops, you stop, bird gets nervous - GAME ON! And if there is more than one bird the first nervous flush triggers the rest. Happy hunter, happy dog!

Re: My new to me 1910 AH Fox
Tool Man, the check to AHFCA was in the mail before your post organized it's electrons! :P I'm looking forward to the good info once the grousentool is in my mitts. I'm not sure if it'll get here before the end of late grouse season (1/26 in these parts). if not I'll take my Browning 20 ga O/U (hope...

Re: My new to me 1910 AH Fox
Jolly, I didn't ask about the serial #. I'll have to wait until it arrives I guess. $175 is a far cry from what I paid!
vaturkey, drop at heel is 3-1/4 according to the listing. I happen to like a good bit of drop so it's OK by me.

Re: Ruffed Grouse Hunting
I use a bell. I don't think it costs me birds but I'll probably really never know. Some of the stuff we hunt is pretty thick and being able to tell where the dog is gives me peace of mind. If I ever lose the dog I might as well not go home. I am not about to tell my wife the dog is lost!

My new to me 1910 AH Fox
I'm new to the forum but I've learned a lot from lurking. With this fine gun on it's way to me I figured it was time to join the party. I made arrrangements for payment and shipping today. According to the dealer listing: A.H. FOX – A Grade, 12ga, 28" barrels choked IC/IM, round knob pistol gri...
